Carpy Diem

How did you choose your derby name?
When I was younger, there were things that I decided not to do, but wanted to do, because of what other people would think or because I would talk myself out of it. In recent years, I recognized that and decided to not let those factors decide whether or not I would try something new. I took Carpe Diem (seize the day) and combined it with my last name, as a reminder to seize the day, everyday, in roller derby and life in general.

At practice, I am the one most likely to _____?
Keep my mouthguard in after practice.

How has roller derby changed your life?
I’m physically stronger than I have ever been, which I did not expect to happen while approaching the f-word (forty).

Tell us about your lucky/favorite item of gear or workout wear?
Corgi knee socks! My dad bought them for me for my birthday last year.
